  • To serve as a major resource centre of excellence in education and scientific research for the development of botany, horticulture and other related fields in Malaysia;
  • To document, protect and promote conservation of native flora of Malaysia especially the rare, vulnerable and valuable plants of our tropical forest;
  • To educate and create public awareness on the role of plants and forest as part of the ecosystem;
  • To develop a sense of appreciation on the richness of plant species available in the country;
  • To provide a pleasant recreational opportunities to the community within the scope of natural environment.
